Newly introduced to the general practice Quality and Outcomes Framework for 2013/4 are indicators relating to an annual review of patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This supports GPs to conduct a face to face review with patients who have this condition. Typically, this will involve a review of your medication, discussion about any side effects you may be experiencing associated with your medication, advice regarding avoidance of osteoporosis or bone fractures and a risk assessment for heart disease.

To support these discussions, the practice will arrange for you to an appointment with our Healthcare Assistant to take blood, record your weight and measure your height prior to your appointment with the GP. If you have not yet received an invitation for this review and you feel that you are eligible then please contact the practice and ask to speak to Karen Gillan.

We look forward to extending this newly introduced service to our patients.
