In August 2010 I was delighted to be welcomed by Eyemouth Medical Practice and I’ve been a partner here since early 2011. I think this is a great area and I am really enjoying living the Borders lifestyle. At the weekend you may catch me out on my bike, walking along the coastal paths or trying to tame the garden.

I joined the practice, following a brief spell of working in Australia, to be closer to family. I have an interest in family medicine, mental health, diabetes and minor surgery. I love sport, especially rugby and also love going outdoors and relaxing on beautiful beaches.

Dr Pippa Bowyer

Practice GP (Partner)

Qualified: 2016
Date Joined The Practice: February 2021
About: Having had a previous career as a lawyer, I decided to retrain as a doctor to be able to move back home to the beautiful Borders to bring up my family. I am currently in my final year of GP training here at Eyemouth and have done all my earlier training here in the Borders. When I’m not at work I will be out and about horse riding with my two pony mad children, playing in the nearby community woodland or generally trying to keep on top of gardening and field maintenance!

Martin Giebner

Qualifications: Qualifications - General nursing degree, Critical Care Course, Advanced Life Support, In-Flight (Aviation) Nursing, Advanced History Taking , Clinical Assessment and V300 Independent Prescribing.
Joined The Practice: May 2020

After working as a paramedic and teaching emergency care in Austria, I qualified as a nurse in 1995, and came to the UK in 1998. My main background is in critical and emergency care, and I worked in this capacity for over 20 years in Intensive Care units in London, Oxford, Austria, Switzerland, and Australia, and even as far afield as Kent!

After a spell as a flight nurse, bringing patients back home from overseas on air ambulances and scheduled flights, I wanted to do something more community based, and started working as a nurse practitioner for primary care services and GP surgeries in 2015.
Having moved to the lovely Scottish Borders, I joined Eyemouth Medical Practice in May 2020. I am enjoying very much being part of the health care team serving this community. When I’m not at work, you may see me – come rain or shine – riding my motorcycle through this beautiful landscape.

I started my nursing career in 1980 at Peel Hospital Galashiels Borders College of Nursing. I qualified in 1982 and left in 1983 to have my family. I left the Knoll and came to Eyemouth to work at the Day Hospital in 2000 eventually becoming the Charge Nurse where I spent nineteen happy years nursing a wide variety of patients.
