Further to the announcement by NHS Borders that the branch surgery will close on Friday 1st October 2021, we would like to update patients about the practical arrangements for the cessation of dispensing services.
The dispensary will accept prescription requests up to 1pm on Friday 24th September. All requests made before this date will be honoured to the best of our ability.
Medication requested before this deadline must be collected by 11am on Friday 1st October. After this time, medication will not be available so a replacement prescription request will have to be made.
All requests made after this deadline, will be directed to Eyemouth Pharmacy unless an alternative arrangement has been made. There will be an option for prescriptions to be passed to both the Chirnside and Duns pharmacies through the Romanes pharmacy network. However, patients wishing to obtain their medication from any other pharmacy will need to collect the paper prescription in person from Eyemouth Medical Practice.
The last deliveries to the Reston and St Abbs shops will be made on Tuesday 28th September therefore the deadline for requests for these deliveries will be Wednesday 22nd September.
The practice will be contacting all those patients who currently receive medication in weekly blister packs to discuss future arrangements to ensure a smooth transition to an alternative provider.
The practice website will be updated to reflect the above arrangements so on-line ordering is clear for patients.
Please note that from the afternoon of Friday 1st October, the branch surgery premises will be unmanned. All enquiries should be directed to the health centre in Eyemouth.
